Need help ID'ing an AE23 - Greek or Roman Provincial?
« on: August 10, 2022, 07:52:05 am »
Thanks for taking a look at this AE23 weighing 6.6g.

I believe it is Greek or Roman Provincial based on the legend, but I can't make it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Do you have better (sharper) pictures?

Thanks for your response! I had a little trouble loading pictures, but I believe the new image of the obverse is hopefully clearer. Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Perhaps an image of the reverse too?

Thanks for your interest! It apparently got deleted when I added the clearer obverse images. It’s hopefully restored and visible again now.

On the obverse I read..OYPOC ΠЄ.., for Septimius Severus. (CЄOYPOC ΠЄP)

Therefore this might ! be a coin from Amphipolis (note the star below the throne, and the A on the left)
