Nie patrzył bym na to przez pryzmat postępu i zacofania - ogólnie to dość niebezpieczny skrót myślowy. Używa się go niestety zbyt często do narzucania "nowego", które ma być lepsze od "starego", po czym po ciężkich przejściach okazuje się, że wcale to "nowe" takie dobre nie było i narobiło mnóstwo szkody.
Tak, ale imperia możemy podzielić na te, które mają coś do zaoferowania i na takie, które wielkość mierzą wyłącznie skalą podboju. Upraszczając, cesarstwo augustów oferowało podwyższony standard życia w przeciwieństwie do np. do podobnie zachowującego się pod względem ekspansji terytorialnej cesarstwa Katarzyny II.

Ja jakoś tej mody nie widzę.
Na pewno, z punktu widzenia obserwatora, Pan tę modę widzi (tak jak i ja), tylko się nie utożsamia z różnych powodów – zdrowotnych, ideologicznych, itp. Obecna moda np. na ekologię i otwartość ma miejsce, bo taki akurat jest etap. Poza tym zawsze pomaga elitaryzm: my coś wiemy i stosujemy, a ciemnota nic nie rozumie, bo nie jest uprzywilejowana. Za Antoninów modna była niewiara i filozofia, bo pozwalała wyróżnić się od zabobonnego pospólstwa. Ateizm był modny, bo wyróżniał uprzywilejowanych. Teraz imponuje nowoczesna otwartość, pewnego rodzaju mutacja ateizmu. Oczywiście uogólniamy tutaj, ale tylko po to, aby wychwycić trend. Zawsze jest jakaś moda. Nie musimy w niej uczestniczyć, ale oglądać i komentować możemy.

Greetings,

I was able to obtain this wonderful little Athenian tritartemorion. No owl on this reverse; just horn-inward crescents and the legend E☉A within.

For the six references in which I found this coin, none depicted in a plate photograph or catalog write-up the particular legend arrangement on this coin. I was not able to distinguish the legend arrangement on two photographs and although Kroll states that arrangement variations exist he did not enumerate them.

Obv:  IMP C P LIC GALLIENVS AVG Radiate and cuirassed bust of Gallienus to right.

Rev: ROMAE AETERNAE, Emperor receiving Victory from Roma seated to left, shield behind; pellet in wreath in field above.

The obverse legend of the year 1 type is ΑΥΤ ΤΙΤ ΦΛΑΥΙ ΟΥΕΣΠΑΣΙΑΝ ΚΑΙΣ

on your coin you can read ... ΣΕΒΑ ΟΥΕΣ.. which fits with the other five.


The Δ looks similar to A, so maybe LΔ
