Coins used by the Silures
« on: March 02, 2004, 10:11:55 am »
Hi,

I know that it is thought the Silures did not mint their own coins, but used coins of other tribes, such as the Dobunni. Does anyone know which coins the Silures used. Did they use only Dobunni coins, or did they also use Durotriges and other tribes' coinage.

Also, if it is known what coinage the Silures were using, is the evidence based merely on finds in Silures teritory, or is there other evidence.

Thanks,

Pappa
