ILKHANID Double Dirhem help, please!
« on: May 13, 2010, 09:53:50 pm »
Hello!

I would like some help with this coin.  I believe it is a double dirham, Ilkhanid. 3.5 g. I think it is Abu Said -

Can someone confirm the ruler?  And the date and mint?  These are a bit beyond my area of knowledge :-[

Many thanks!

Hello!

The date should be 721 AH. The mint is really hard to read for me, but I think it is Tabriz.

Hello!

Many thanks, Redigorre!

The coin IS much better in hand.  I wish someone could make a small "lesson" about these coins....
Perhaps I would learn more if I knew where to look for the mint name, and the ruler's name, and
the date!

Arabic-style writing is beautiful... but very hard for me to read!
