Alexandria, Ptolemean to
Roman.
I have some difficulty with this Tranquilliana, year six, which
type I can only find with the helmeted
Athena Nikephora,
shield against the chair.
Our specimen, which I cannot find on the www, has on the
reverse an other person on the chair. Does anyone have a reference for this
type?
And a second question: When I read on
wikipedia about Tranquilliana, her active years are noted 241 to 244. What about that "Year 6" than? Or is that the 6th regnal year of
Gordianus III ?
