After discovering that my pulvinar series Titus denarius was a fake (https://www.forumancientcoins.com/board/index.php?topic=102277.0)  I have been on the lookout for a replacement.

I'm happy to have finally found it. Rarer with the left facing portrait.

I believe this is an obverse die match to Harry N. Sneh's example from Gemini auction X.

and a double die match to CGB.fr Auction 34

Well, I couldn't help but jump on the Domitian bandwagon when I saw this one.

I was pleasantly surprised with a nicer coin than the sellers picture showed.

David, do you mind if I "borrow" parts of your great write up for my RIC 94?

Thanks either way!

I just added four denarii of Severus Alexander, all are dated to his third consulship. This completes a side project I've been working on for a little while now.

Any insights, observations or corrections are always appreciated.

Hope you enjoy them,

Nemo

Thanks Q!  I've been waiting a long time to add the DEVICTA type to my collection for a long time.

I've been distracted as of late trying to finish a little side project with Severus Alexander.  A while back I acquired a Military diploma fragment he issued that only has a partial date on the third line.  The possible years are 229 (TRIB POT VIII), 230 (VIIII), 233 (XII), 234 (XIII) and 235 (XIIII).

Here's the finished product.

This was attributed as Antioch mint RIC 1563 but I believe it is from the Rome mint RIC 371 which makes it a very nice find. I hope I'm right..... ;D

I'd say you're right!

Clearly Rome not Antioch, so considerably rarer.

Knowing the difference between Rome and Antioch mint styles can reap a few bargains. Nice catch!

I have to say, it's a great deal of fun finding these gems.

Just tonight I had a chance to photograph another misattributed, rare denarius of Vespasian.

https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-125492

I posted the portrait in another thread, I feel it has a distinct Alexandrian style to it.  In any case, this is a very hard to find Neptune type from the Lyon mint.  Not only misattributed but poor dealer pictures to boot.  It certainly saw a lot of circulation but I'm very happy with it!

As always, I'm open to any mistakes I've made in attribution as well!

Well done! When one starts to specialise these are the type of misattributed coins that makes it worthwhile.

I couldn't agree more. It's just a question of whether or not there's another Flavian collector who is going to fight you for it!

Here are a couple more I've added to my gallery.

A Lucius Verus / Pax
