AE22 of Trajan, Tyche
« on: January 14, 2007, 05:08:32 pm »
I thought this would be easy:
obv: [] AIANOC TEKACE <- not so sure about this part, laureate head right
rev: [] PINOIWN, Tyche standing left, holding patera and cornucopia

I could not find a match, couldn't even find out the city.
AE22, 6g

PERINQIWN, Perinthus, issued for Trajan: [DEAD LINK REMOVED BY ADMIN] Same obverse die, apparently. The legend reads AV KAI NE TRAIANOS SEB AG.

I don't understand why this is so easy for you and so difficult for me.

Thanks!

That's exactly what I am thinking after each of Luigi's incredible attributionsĀ  ::)

Hi Areich!

With RINOIWN you was very close with the city! Theta looks often like an O with a dot in its midth. So it is RINTHIWN. And then you would have probably come to PERINTHIWN!

Best regards
