My thought is that they may have been fibula pins, remember the famous geese of Rome, so why not have fibula pins made in the form of those geese.

I do not think they are fibulae.  I have seen nothing like them in any fibula reference.  They look more like decorations which have broken off bronze vessels.  These were common in some late (?) bronze age Balkans finds if I recall correctly.  I will see if I can find any references.
