The small thing is from the hilt of a knife.  The big part goes over the knife handle and the blade went through the slot.  Not sure of era.  My guess is post-Roman, maybe post-medieval but that is just a guess.

The other object might (might) be the base of a statue which has been broken off at the ankles????
