Constantine I/VOT PR help
« on: March 03, 2015, 11:04:23 am »
AE 17.5 mm; 2.18 g

I'm desperate for help with this coin.  I've looked at so, so many examples of the general type, and haven't found any matching legends or combinations of legends.
The obverse has IMP but no MAX or AVG; the reverse ends with PRINCI, with no PERP; the mint may be Trier, ?STR
O: IMP CONSTA-NTINVSN (there may be an O or something after the N, or perhaps it's part of the armor)
R: VICTORIAE LAETAI PRINCI
Any help would be most welcome and much appreciated.

Your coin has a garbled legend because it is an unofficial issue

Click on LRBC Gateway link on the bottom of Victor's posting, then on the constantinethegreat.com link and you will see that his site has many excellent pages dedicated to this coin type, both official and unofficial issues.
