Coin by Antonius Felix?
« on: June 09, 2023, 05:29:30 pm »
Might this be a Hendin 1348 AE prutah by Antonius Felix?
What do you think of the apparent CP on the obverse?
I am helping a friend with this coin and only have these photos without size and weight
Thank you.

Hi,

I think it is Antoninus Felix. Although off centre it looks to be crossed shields and the "CP" is actually part of Nero's name in Greek letters NEPW, the E being a curved letter.

Above the tree on the other side there is BP part of the word BPIT for Britannicus.

I don't have Hendin so can't comment whether the catalogue number is actually correct.

Regards,

Mauseus
