Greek Coins by Charles Seltman
« on: September 09, 2021, 09:55:25 pm »
Interested to read the discussion by Seltman in 'Greek Coins' about the coinage system of Hieron II of Syracuse. The book is *almost* old enough to be out of copyright (pub. in 1955) but probably not yet freely available so maybe someone here knows if Seltman made interesting points on that topic.

Thank you,

PtolemAE

The first edition is from 1933, so you find it here: https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.280124/page/n1/mode/2up
(googling is not so difficult ;) ).

Thank you. The reference was to a 1955 edition but the earlier edition has the relevant passages, and it's worth a read to find Seltman more or less summarized Holm on this topic.

Thanks also for your excellent suggestion - searching with Google wouldn't have otherwise come to mind :)

In fact it seems to be the 1955 edition, there is a preface from 1954 :): https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.280124/page/n7/mode/2up
