Title: Unknown byzantine follis to ID
Post by: DagonX on March 15, 2023, 04:39:12 pm
Any ideas about this byzantine follis? Some kind of overstruck, imitation?

16,7-22,1 mm
2,27 g

Thanks for help! :)

Your coin belongs to Constans II. These coins are hard to identify because they are often only partially legible, like yours. There are also many Arab Byzantine imitations of Constans II.

They are hard to identify, but we can read a regnal year XIII (or perhaps XIIII) on this specimen, can't we? So, SBCV 1007.
