« on: April 20, 2008, 02:27:03 pm »
Hi all,

I want to share you this interesting dupondius struck around 36 BC in Lyon ( Copia Felix Munatia Lugdunum ).

Octavian and Julius Caesar.
IMP C [AESAR DIVI F] DIVI IVLI, laureate head of Julius Caesar back to back with bare head of Octavian; palm branch between
CO[PIA] in exergue, prow of galley right; globe (or prize crown) and meta above. RPC I 515; Giard, Lyon 7; SNG Copenhagen 689.

under the both heads , is clearly a portrait from Octavian.

weight is light 13,38 g ; 30 mm
