What Size Is An Avatar?
« on: December 01, 2021, 09:34:20 pm »
I finally got around to trying to upload an avatar. I keep getting a "too large error." I have scaled down multiple times, last one at 100 x 97 pixels and keep getting the same error. I can't find specs for the correct size of an avatar. Anyone know?

Thanks,
Virgil

Hi Virgil, I had the same issue but then just looked at the dimensions of somebody else's avatar that was working and used that size...so 60x60.

I should have thought of that. Thanks so much for your response.

Yes, it looks really nice Virgil! Do you have a forum gallery or picture of the other side?

Hi Steve,
I don't have a gallery, I have it on my to-do list to start one, but my photography skills are lacking with the macro stuff. And my collection is pretty modest compared to most here. I did post it in the Coin of the Day under Forum Purchase of the day. It is at the end of the thread as I posted it a day or two ago. The photo is the Forum photo. If I can figure out how to take pictures like that, I would be thrilled.

Hi Virgil, just found it. Thanks. Love it! Super coin.

My photography setup, currently, is a phone and/or scanner. It used to be somewhat better years ago, a copy stand and basic camera, but that got put to one side (and eventually lost) as I went all in on literature. At some point I need to start again. Some of the photography I see here in member galleries is both amazing and inspiring One day....

I asked Sorin to add text that identifies the limit on the form to add the avatar.
