Title: Lorica Segmentata piece?
Post by: Jose G on October 20, 2020, 03:45:10 pm
Hi Everyone,

I start this new topic just in case we could indentify this object. I thin it is Lorica segmentata piece, maybe a regional variation design, but not sure.

Any opinion will be much appreciated,

Thanks in advance,

Jose

I think it is just a piece of a bronze vessel or something.

Lorica segmentata plates are iron and the brass or bronze fitting types and forms are all well known.

The typology is mapped out in M. C. Bishop's "Lorica Segmentata Volume I: A Handbook of Articulated Roman" and M.D Thomas' "Lorica Segmentata. Vol. II: A Catalogue of Finds", both published by JRMES (the Journal of Roman Military Equipment Studies).
