Title: ID please AE15 - bust of Tyche
Post by: Connect4 on September 28, 2021, 04:32:11 am
I can’t find this ID as the reverse is difficult to resolve.
Obv: Draped, veiled and turreted bust of Tyche right. Rev: If rotated 90 degrees clockwise perhaps a figure with cloak streaming out!  Otherwise I can’t resolve. ΛΕ below.  Any help would be appreciated.   14.2 – 15.2, 3.4mm thick, 3.6gr
Thanks

This is a coin from Apameia in Phrygia with Marsyas playing aulos on the reverse.
On the coin here you see clearly the maeander pattern Marsyas is standing on, like here: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=6700852

The magistrate's name on the coin here is only an abbreviation ME.
