Ancient Senet / Conical Game Piece?

hi all,

i got this (stone) a few months ago. found them at whitley bay (thought the area might help), a place where sea glass are found only during autumn / fall. kept it because of it's unusual shape. i find its shape is akin to an egyptian senet. could it even have a chance to drift to an english shore if it is really one? i doubt so 

i am really convinced with the shape and size though. i assume the hole / lesion on the surface was caused by aquatic plants once grown on it. there were other stones lying on the bay with stems still attached to them and holed once i pluck them out. it's 19mm in height. below are the best shots made by my humble old camera if they may be of any help identifying it. fingers crossed it is really a senet or anything ancient it will be the most exciting find! very cool if you guys are able to date it too

I don't think your item is an ancient game piece.

Looks more like a naturally occurring sea-worn chert/flint nodule. Are chert beds represented in the geology in the adjacent area or along the coast from the find site?

i've learned something new today; a chert nodule. yes there are other rounded rocks, which i presume are nodules, present but none are so perfectly shaped and mostly are jagged and if they're round, they're just like the other pebbles; they neither stand or have a proper shape. but yes, i think i do agree with you both now. its just another rock keeping it for how cute it looks now.

we even have geologists in this forvm bravo!
