Greek ae?
« on: May 23, 2019, 09:03:49 am »

AE  11mm,   1.30g.

Labrys, all within olive wreath. / Macedonian helmet, to left  :Greek_Beta: and probably  :Greek_Alpha: to right!

Any reference for this coin?

Thank you for the help.

I can't find a link I can post here, but two sellers offer a similar example with wreath.

Both with the reference SNG Munich 912 type -  Carian , Mylasa (one says perhaps Mylasa)

Maybe someone with SNG Munich can check that.

Here is one coin referred as SNG Munich 912:

Looks like Price 2067 to me.

That's a shield again and not a wreath.  :-\ Is Solons coin unpublished ?? With two examples for sale and easy to find I can't believe it.

A year ago we already had a discussion about this type: https://www.forumancientcoins.com/board/index.php?topic=115674.0
It still seems to be unpublished  :-\.

It has some similarities with the macedonian shield/macedonian helmet series. There also you find specimens with BA and KA and with a grain ear.
