Salem -
Used to seeing you on the other side helping the rest of us out! (Like your cleaning lessons, too. You and Kevin are the cleaning gurus!)
I'm looking in Milne and I can't find a reference for Apollo Philesios and there isn't anything on wildwinds or the dealer sites that comes even close.
Could it be from another mint besides Alexandria? Crete?
I hope you post the answer!
Awesome coin, too!
Tony

Hello again, Salem!
That is the first coin of that type I've seen, so it's been fun watching the process work. (And kind of good for my ego to see the experts get stumped every once in a while - especially since I'm stumped all the time!)
I also appreciate your cleaning tips! (I may send a question or two your way sometime, if it's ok.)
Great coin!
Tony

I compared it to this coin sold by CNG:

Tom: I saw that one as well, Apollo is facing at the CNG one, and this example  seems like apollo has a knife not a bow ??

The description says bow. When I enlarge the picture, it is clearly a bow.  Also note, the CNG coin is Emmett 1358, a slightly different pose than yours.  Open Emmett, compare the dates and descriptions.  I think you'll see that it's a match. (Although I couldn't find a good description of Apollo Didymeus in his book, that's why I searched CNG.)

As Tom points out it is Emmett 1359. Because the reverse is so unusual, it probably should have been described as "w/stag+bow." You should look at the reverse descriptions on page xviii to get the additional details of this type. The "Didymaios" comes from Milne. BMC uses "Milesian." BMC-936 (of year 7)  is pictured on BMC plate iii. This type has, to the right, "a tripod round which serpent twines." Sometimes there is an altar (at left) on the facing type reverses. The types have an unstrung bow.

The normally seen variety is the facing type E-1358.
