Antioch Restitvt Orbis of Aurelian
« on: June 24, 2017, 05:10:44 am »
Hi,

The MER-RIC site contains the quote for the Antioch mint RESTITVT ORBIS coins of Aurelian "It is practically impossible to part the coins between the series RESTITVT ORBIS with the Greek mark S//XXI = 6th officina (Issue 5) and the series with the Latin mark S//XXI = 2nd officina (Issue 6)" but then offers no suggestion how it might be done or specify the criteria that they used. If one were to look at the cited die axes the Greek series seem more regularly aligned to 0 or 180, but that is not infallible. Can anyone offer suggestions how it might be achieved?

Regards,

Mauseus
