uncertain architectural type?
« on: May 05, 2021, 12:44:42 am »
Hi all
I'll try it again with that mystery coin... 19 mm, 5.53 gr. Any chance to recognize the object on the reverse? Altar? Ok, where is it from (city)?
Yes, it's very similar to altar of El-Gabal on well known issue of Emesa, but .. I have my doubts
I would appreciate your help

Hi Peri,

I don't think it is Charachmoba.

I have an example of that type (first coin):

The dimensions of the altar are wrong, and the legends don't match.

Thank you all for the comments, but the object on the reverse remains a mystery
