Rv.: Monogram cesarza w wieńcu laurowym. Napis w odcinku CON (oznaczenie mennicy w Konstantynopolu)

W odcinku jest raczej CYZ czyli oznaczenie mennicy w Kyzikos. Moneta rzadsza niż z Konstanytnopola.
W napisie na awersie pierwszą część trudno interpretować czy zawiera błędy czy nie - litery mogły zostać uszkodzone przez korozję, natomiast końcówka raczej na pewno jest P F A, a nie P F AVG

W sumie monetka bardzo ładna jak ne ten okres gdzie może 10 % zachowanych monet da się dokładniej zidentyfikować.

Another huge acquisition (for me) from the Weise collection - a MUCH better example of an Archelaus coin (though not perfect, there are some reverse flan flaws - some of the coin's fabric looks to have flaked off in antiquity - and there is some wear, though not a lot)  from Cappadocia than my previous example (both of these were hard to get - this is actually a pretty rare coin).  The obverse may be a die match - hard to say for certain. 

Lovely toning on this one and I have the provenance back to at least 1992.

Pretty happy with this upgrade to my kings of Cappadocia gallery.

No chyba że rzeczywiście to, co wziąłem za C to jakieś niedobite R.

Chyba wszystko stąd, że to szerokie "M" (ale niewiele szersze od "N") wziął Pan za "MA".

I believe Dr. Klaus Vondrovec is still the curator of the Vienna Münzkabinet.You could directly contact him there to have more details on the book. I e-mailed him in the past for a question about the museum, and he is a real gentleman who will be happy to help you.
