Help with hammered copper please. Cross on obverse and reverse

Found metal detecting in SOuth Carolina. It has crosses on both sides. And is a hammered copper coin a little smaller than a U.S. cent

It is Spanish.  The top image shows castles and lions in the corners of the cross.  The bottom image is a cross.  Do you know what metal it is made of?
