Hello All

This is my first post in the Forum Discussion Group and i have finally decided to jump it for 2 reasons :

1) i want to learn more and share about Provincial coins, especially those issued by Septimius Severus. I have also some other point of interest ( i didn't find an Introduction Section  ;D )

2) after a while, and there is no urgence for that, i would be glad to offer some coins for auction here since i am refocusing my coin collection  ;D

BTW, my favorite areas for collecting are now focused on the following topics :

1) Septimius Severus provincials as afore mentioned
2) Byzantine Coins ....(probably i should focus there too  ::))
3) Septimius Severus denarii  ( this topic a bit loosely developed )

I am currently living in France ( not so original for a French guy  :) so please forgive my english by no means perfect or ...modern

Glad to be here with you !
Will  post later some pics in a near future  ( still in the office now )

All The Best

Philippe   :)

Hi again

In observance to my jumping into the Discussion Board, i will try to post a pic of my latest addition regarding Septimius provincial coin
It is an apparently unpublished AE17 from Ephesos with the boar reverse  :)

Hope you enjoy it and glad to know from you if this coin has some reference
(i picked it in ebay where it was initially misattributed )

Here comes the pic hopefully !

Cheers
Philippe

+++ Thank you so much Helen for these informations ! I will learn something concerning the myths related to Ephesos  :)
I think we can also find a boar like this one on a Gallienus Zoo coin .

This tends to confirm that this coin is unpublished  :) ( i think it is the first one i find like this )

Cheers
Philippe

Philippe,
Your coin appears to be SNG von Aulock 1894.  I'll confirm when I get home tonight.
