unknown ancient coin? (Male with curly hair)
« on: June 13, 2004, 11:31:53 pm »
I have this old greek coin, the front of is a male head with curly hair with a leaf head band, the back side is a female sitting she is holding a long spear in one hand. The coin does have a description on the back which said "MYPPOY" on the left of the female sitting-on the rightside of the female sitting it says "BAEI/\ E/\E." I found this coin in my
grandfathers coin collection. I think it a bronze coin I'm not sure.
If anyone knows about this coin please email me.
Thanks Joanna. :)
The coin is posted in the gallery.
  IT does say "MYPPOY"
The coin has the letter "A" on the bottom.on the backside, also the is not reverse. Each way you flip it is the same-which very unusual?

Could it be PYPPOY instead of MYPPOY?
If so perhaps you have a coin in the name of Pyrrhus.

As EC already said, could you please provide us an image of this coin?

I'll have a link tommorrow for the coin.
