I have what I think is a greek bronze of Macedonia/Alexander 3, but thats all I can come up with. It came in a lot of uncleaned years ago, and I only just finished it!

Obv - Head of herakles wearing lion's mane
Rev - man/youth on prancing horse

Any more details/attributions from our greek experts would be appreciated

oh yeah, coin is 20 mm wide, 2.5 mm thick, and weighs 6.2 gms  ::)

Interesting Coin! I have not seen this one before. looks like a Phillip II reverse with an Alexander Obverse. ( Not saying that that's what it is?? Just an observation)

ember:
Hi,

I think that is a bronze of Kassander, BC319-297.  Sear 6754 variant.

obv-head of young Herakles r., clad in lion's skin.

rev-BASILEUS/KASSANDROY above and beneath naked youth on horse pacing r; AP monogram before, KA monogram beneath.

Darcy

Thanks Darcy!

I think you nailed it.

Jim
