Title: Faustina Minor - province?
Post by: Juhana K on October 05, 2021, 01:44:21 am
Hi,

Empress: Annia Galeria Faustina Minor
Date: A.D. 145 - A.D. 161
Denomination: AE3
Weight: 6 g
Mint: ?
Obverse: ΦAVCTEINA CEBACTH: Bust of Faustina the Younger, draped bust right
Reverse: Concordia standing left holding patera & cornucopiae.

Typically the city would be Pautalia (OVLPIAC PAVTAΛIAC) but I guess this is not? The reverse legend seem to be ΛΔPI ΛI …. Would appreciate if somebody knows the city?

Regards,
Juke

This is your coin, it´s from Hadrianopolis.

You should rather indicate the diameter in millimeters instead of AE3 as it is not exactly clear what is meant by AE3. This terminology is used for late Roman coins but is not generally accepted.
