Can anyone help me with this coin?  It measures 25 mm., and why I obtained it, I do not know, except that the Imp of the Perverse tempted me!  Usually, I avoid provincials like the plague....

Harry,

It's from Nicopolis ad Istrum, naming the governor Sab. Modestus.

Seems a perfect match for AMNG 2055  (rev description translates as "Nike with wreath and palm-branch stg. l.")

Steve,

I am a Babe in the Woods when it comes to provincials....  Many thanks, Kind Sir!

Alas, the coin appears once again to torment me.  A provincial, Harry, and a bronze one at that? A severe moment of weakness for sure.  I will be waiting for the day it reappears looking for a new owner.  ::)
