Russ Brochinsky (new one) passed away
« on: October 17, 2012, 11:58:45 am »
With deep regret and sorrow I must notify our members that Russ Brochinsky (new one) passed away on 16 October. He originally had the username moochius.

He was 57 years old.

His website http://www.ancientromantimes.com/ was always written with humour and contained some interesting information for new collectors.

Members wishing to leave a message for his family can do so here:  http://yalesvillefh.com/sitemaker/sites/wallin0/obit.cgi?page=profile&section=tree&user_id=769171

For me this news was as bad as when I received the news of Dave Surber's death in 2009. Russ was a lovely chap and I loved getting his emails.
Rest in Peace, Russ m'dear.

That is sad news!  And so young.

I always liked Russ' website.  This was one of his best lines:

"The reasons I don't like to use olive oil are:
1) Too darn slow.............I've seen grass grow faster!"

Any cleaner - and Russ' website was great for cleaners new and experienced - will appreciate that.  Regardless of what you use it often seems like watching grass grow.

I now regert that I never emailled him directly to tell him what a great site he had.

That's very sad news. A great loss for the numismatic community.
May his family have support in those dreadful days. My thoughts are for them.
