As I am unable to nominate more than one person, I have chosen to nominate Jochen. He has been a great asset to the discussion board at large and furthermore has been of much help to individual members both publicly in his posts and privately in his PM's.

Alex.

A very difficult question since there are a lot of great people on FORVM, but if I have to make a choice, I'd like to nominate slokind/Patricia. She is always friendly and helpful, no matter how inexperienced people are and her knowledge is just immens. For a young collector like me (and I'm sure for many others as well), the possibility to converse with here is a real honour. Too, I'd like to nominate Curtis - I'm sure I don't have to explain his nomination anymore.

Your right this is difficult because we do have a lot of great members. I would like to nominate Kevin ( PEP) for the incredible work he does for the awards, he is with out a doubt one of the hardest workers on the board, he really makes a difference.

I would find this really difficult.  Both Pat and Curtis are experts in the fields I am interested in (as well as others) and both have been more than helpful - through PM's & other correspondence.  Jochen and Pscipio are always quick of the mark in attribution help, to new and experienced alike (note how I didn't say old :).  There are unsung heros like *Alex, J. Victoria, Lawrence Woolslayer and others who have been slaving away on the Numiswiki project - behind the scenes, so to speak.  There are , of course, many others who I have noticed giving excellent contributions, but the above are the ones, that have caught my eye.

I think I'll pick *Alex, for the reason that alot of effort has probably gone nu-noticed by the "masses"  (Bread & games etc.)  Hopefully someone will pick the others I've named

All the best

I think after Curtis Clay, award winner of the last year, it is Patricia Lawrence who deserves this award most. It is always a pleasure to read her profound comments which add a new dimension to our hobby often going vast beyond the coin on its own.

Best regards

Don't forget Steve Minnoch!  He has more breadth than I have and has helped me repeatedly.  I also agree with all the other nominations.
Pat L.

I'll second Jochen.
I know I'll have a difficult time once it's time for the actual vote, though,
there are several members that deserve this honour.

I nominate tacrolimus.
Without him and Steve Minnoch, a lot of the submitted Greek and Roman provincial coins would never be identified.

CAMPAIGN SPEACH............

Vote for me and I promise:

1. Lower taxes
2. Better coins for less money
3. Free Coins from Forum

Since I probably can't follow-up on any of my campaign promises (this is normal for politicians), I guess I'll vote for Pat L.

Just look at your Magistratus Optima Lege misreading the instructions, "one nomination OR one second per person" ::)  Is someone else willing to second Robert a second time to make it official

Two equally deserving members in very different ways:

Patricia / slokind, for the way she gives us coin collectors a context in ancient art and style,

and

Luigi / tacrolimus, who amazes me every time anew when he shakes a (correct!) attribution out of his sleeve for even the most mysterious and / or miserable Greek coins.

This is a tough one. I post not very often but read the boards every day.
Everyone nominated so far is a wealth of information. I would like to nominate Howard Cole who also contributes alot to the board.

The Case for Curtis (Why your vote should go to Curtis Clay this year.)

Although Curtis is currently leading in the Forum Member of the Year voting,
I would like to implore all of those who have not yet cast their votes to
please vote for Curtis again this year.

The reason is very simple:  So somebody else can win next year!  =)

When Joe S. set this system up, he decreed that if any member was elected
Tribunus Plebis (Member of the Year) for two years, they would ascend to the
permanent status of (Tribunus Plebis Perpetuus) and no longer be eligible
for annual voting because they were effectively deified as a permanent Forum
boards "God" (or Goddess, should Pat very deservedly follow in Curtis'
footsteps two years hence...)

Therefore, if we elect Curtis again this year, we "get him out of the way"
so that all the rest of the fine Moderators and contributors of the Forum
Board can then have their turns in the spotlight.  =)  So please, cast your
vote now for Curtis, who has selflessly given countless hours of his time
and expertise to members of this forum for several years now, and
permanently ensconce him in the pantheon of coin gods where he certainly
deserves to be!  Vote now!  =)

Susan
