Dear Santa, What I want for Christmas...
« on: December 19, 2020, 08:17:54 pm »
Dear Santa and Discussion Members,

For Christmas I would like world peace and for COVID to go away

Also, I would like you to go to NumisWiki, select one article and improve it.  Small or large, fix something, add something, or improve something.

Thanks,
Joey

The first one is rather difficult.  The second will happen, but I am not one of the heroes involved in that fight.

But the third is something we can all do.

Thanks for hosting it all and happy holidays to you and your family!

Does creating new entries count?  :)

Creating brief entries, and in the case of the first term I mean very brief, for kulāf and barsom rods has been on my "to do" list for quite some time. I'll try to get this done before the new year takes flight for too long.

I find myself turning to Numiswiki first anytime that I come across a numismatic term or coin related word that I don't understand. If I don't find it in Numiswiki but wind up finding it somewhere else, then I try to create a Numiswiki entry.

Take care and happy holidays.

Tracy

Yes to all! Happy holidays to the best of our abilities. Received my first vaccine last weekend, and at least here in the PNW/US, though difficult, there is maybe a glimmer of light. Stay well all!

I just created a very brief entry for the Pahlavi word "Kulāf" (without the macron over the "a", however, as I thought that most users wouldn't search for the word that way). The Pahlavi spelling should have a macron over the "p", but although I can accomplish that in Google docs using Insert -> Equation, I could not figure out how to do it here. If someone knows of a way to do that, then please let me know and I'll fix it.

Thanks.

...and I just created a brief Numiswiki article for barsom bundles. Whew! I didn't let too much of 2021 get away from me before doing this.

Since I now have four Roman Republican coins from the Duke of Northumberland Collection (three of which appear in my Forum Gallery), I felt compelled to add information to the "Northumberland" and "Smyth" Numiswiki entries.

Haven't forgotten my promise.  I have noticed that there are not many NumisWiki articles about Asian coinage.  I am working on a few but they are medium term projects.  Will definitely happen though.

I just finished another stocking stuffer. I noticed that NumisWiki didn’t have an entry for Bull Wrestling, as in the Thessalian coin type, so I just posted a brief write-up. However, only one image (actually the image consists of two jpgs) uploaded; the other two didn’t. As of now I can’t figure out what went wrong as I went through the same process for all of the images, i.e. I used the Upload an Image icon.

Hopefully others will come along and greatly improve it once I get the images squared away. Thanks.
