Ave!

Just sharing as this is the first such ring I have ever seen, let alone owned.  :-*

Medieval, Sword and Arm Ring, c. 9th-13th Century Flag of Velika

Copper alloy; 9.1gm / Ring size 11 1/4

Con/ as cast; dark brown patina

Description/ bezel engraved with raised arm, sword, star and crescent moons.

Ref/ Pollio, page 112

Quoting Pollio - Also known as "sword in hand" or "arm holding sword", this heraldic device was used to convey the sense of temporal sovereignty and military domination. Such designs were utilized in Eastern Europe and the Balkans throughout the Medieval Period.

"Goodbye, Livia: never forget our marriage!"
