missing dots

Hi!

I've learned that leaving out the dots at the border is an argument for forgery. Now I ask me why? Is it for making the small dots is too difficult for a forger?
Or is it impossible to cast these small dots?

    I would say missing border dots is a random mistake made by some forgers, not a general characteristic of forgeries.  
    The dots are not hard to engrave into a false die, and they can be reproduced quite well by casting!
