Beard and long scepter and holding a "thingy".

Perhaps the "thingy" is meant to portray a lightening bolt and it is a Zeus / Jupiter?

Yeah, I was thinking the same concerning the "thingy".
Most likely it is meant to represent a thunderbolt...sort of.

Found in Croatia, the fellow who did the engraving was not a master craftsman
but good enough for the provincials.
