Dear All,
Some time ago you all helped me with this coin. I now think it may be from Tarentum,
Sicily.
Reverse is probably a
horse(back)rider over a
dolphin (the small line under the
horse).
But who is on
obverse ?
I know it is not easy to see so a little description here : Standing God facing
his left, dressed in
chiton, possibly helmeted or somesuch. Left
arm raised holding something (
scales, a bunch of ...). Right
arm bent plus/minus at hip height. At the coins left (so at the Gods back) is some vertical lettering which (!) may end in something like V Epsilon at
head height.
All
help concerning which God it is is very much appreciated !
