Same Coin, New question : which God ?
« on: February 03, 2022, 10:39:24 am »
Dear All,

Some time ago you all helped me with this coin. I now think it may be from Tarentum, Sicily. Reverse is probably a horse(back)rider over a dolphin (the small line under the horse).

But who is on obverse ?

I know it is not easy to see so a little description here : Standing God facing his left, dressed in chiton, possibly helmeted or somesuch. Left arm raised holding something (scales, a bunch of ...). Right arm bent plus/minus at hip height. At the coins left (so at the Gods back) is some vertical lettering which (!) may end in something like V Epsilon at head height.

All help concerning which God it is is very much appreciated !

Mr Grande & Mr Sermarini,

Thanks for the interest and help ! Mr Sermarini of course a 2nd thanks for the determination.
Though the best part of old coins for me is the determination, I would never have found this.

Best Regards
