Antoninus Pius denarius

If this is silver coin,  definately read the cleaning silver thread Joe mentionned.  and please keep us in the loop on the progress

Finally I was able to take some pictures of Antoninus denarius showing the results of a soft cleaning. I only 'touched' the reverse and didn't insist to much.

I agree,  nice job,

I ,  in all honesty,  would seriously consider stopping there,  and flipping

Once again,  nicely done

Ave!

Just curious...but why would you be happy with a silver coin covered with dirt?

Best,

Kevin

That's a good question Kevin. In my case, maybe because I'm afraid it won't look better. I had this chance to aquire an uncleaned denarius with a sand patina. I mean not the usual silver coin, cleaned already, shiny indeed, but this coin has its charm.

Regards, Dany

Purchased a denarius through Forvm recently that was not 100% but the gentle use of electrolysis (following Kevin's published guide) has produced a wonderful coin.
