Title: Tiny Titus COTD
Post by: David Atherton on January 15, 2020, 07:00:20 pm
It's not often that one comes across a Titus quinarius! Luckily, I was able to acquire this handsome specimen. https://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-159661

I've always had a special fondness for this tiny denomination.

Now that's one you don't see every day, and certainly not in that condition!  Nice coin!

Wow very nice! Quinarii are often neat little coins, but like Jay said, this one is really, really nice!  +++

A very nice example David. It is a testament to the skill of the Roman engravers during the period that they could manage such an expressive portrait on such a small flan!

Best regards,

Steve

Thanks Steve.  The numismatic artistry of the era is indeed outstanding.
