Glass fragment depicting Roma.

(1/1)

gallienus1:
A very interesting glass fragment said to be depicting Roma has been discovered during the construction of Rome’s Metro C metro line. To me it looks very similar to the helmeted busts of Roma or Constantinopolis, found on the small 4th century 16mm bronzes of Constantine that must have been in very common use at the time.
