ID for Square-shaped Object, please

The pin through the henges is not original but most likely inserted to keep the loops from collapsing during transit.

No real clue as to its use nor era. Casket lid? Plate cover for a book?

Hmmm.  They look a bit like 1st century belt plaques - but the design is not one I know.  I will check size and design to see if they are indeed a match of just a similar chest decoration.....
