It is easy to get depressed about all the human caused ecological problems we
face today. Species loss, global warming, deforestation, ocean acidification, growing dead zones in the sea, not to mention the one that keeps me awake at night- sublimating clathrates.
But apparently it was not always so. Humans have been actively assisting biodiversity from prehistoric times, then right through the ancient world up until relatively recently if the research presented by Anton
