ancient celtic coins and bronze beads
« on: March 22, 2015, 03:41:42 am »
Hi I have a collection of small lead rings and cylindrical bronze beads for your consideration. The lot were described as ancient celtic coins and bronze beads  I would like an opinion as to authenticity. The seller says " I received a authentication certificate with the celtic bronze beads". The circular rings are made from lead and the cylindrical beads have a slight partial curve and are drilled.  The lead rings are 4 to 5mm. and the cylindrical beads up to 6mm. diameter. I have include photographs of the drill holes as well as the beads.

It all looks very fresh, the drill holes and other signs of manufacturing.

Agreed--very modern looking tool marks.  Do you know of other parallels from excavations?  All the bronze beads I have seen in excavation reports look very different indeed.
