Average is not a standard coin grade but is sometimes used to describe bulk lots. What average means will vary depending on the type of coin. In general, it is safe to assume the coins will be in Fair to Fine condition.
The majority of the piece is present although it may be reconstructed. The surfaces may be subject to wear, abrasion or encrustation. Much excavated material is found in this grade.
