Remus, the brother of Romulus, and reputed son of Mars by Rhea Silvia. See Lupa; also see Romulus and Remus.

According to fable, miscalled history, he appeared after his death to his foster father and mother, Acca Laurentia and Faustulus, to demand that divine honors should be rendered him.  And certain it is that in the most remote times, a temple was consecrated to him in the fourth region, at Rome.
