Visontium

Visontium, a town of the Pelendones in Hispania Taraconensis, supposed to have been a municipium from coins of Augustus and Galba (?) with the legend MVN VISONTIVM, but I doubt if they are genuine. It has been suggested that the coin of Augustus might be attributed to Vesontio (now Besancon) in Gallia, at which place there was a municipalis schola.
