VIRTVS:

- Rome (?) standing left, holding Victory and parazonium, or Mars standing holding parazonium and spear, or sword and spear; on gold and silver coins of Galba.

- Helmeted |bust| of Valour right. Obv: SER GALBA IMP (Servina), Galba on horseback to right or left, raising right hand; silver.

- Helmeted head of Valour. Rev: IVPPITER CVSTOS, Jupiter standing; propably struck under Nero; silver.

- HONOS ET VIRTVS on large bronze coins of Galba.

- GLORIA SAEVCLI VIRTVS CAES, on gold and silver coins of Constantine the Great, or CAESS and CEASARIS on bronze medallons of Constantine the Great.

- INVICTA VIRTVS on silver coins of Septimius Severus and Caracalla, also on gold of Caracalla.

- PERPETVA VIRTVS AVG (Augusti) on gold coins of Licinius I.

- Victory walking to left, holding wreath and globe on which Victory. Obv: D N ERACLI PP A, diademed |bust| of Hercules facing; silver.


- Frequently found on the obverse of the coins and medallions of the later Roman emperors, sometimes representing them holding a harse and a |shield| on which are various figures, as: VIRTVS POSTVMI AVG, VIRTVS FLORIANI AVG, VIRTVS PROBI AVG, VIRTVS PROBI INVINCI AVG, VIRTVS CARI AVG, VIRTVS DIOCLETIANI AVG, VIRTVS MAXIMIANI AVG [see SALVIS AVGG ET CAESS, etc], VIRTVS VARAVSI AVG, VIRTVS CONSTANTI AVGT (Constantii Augusti), etc.
