XL, Quadragensuma. - R XL, Remissa Quadragensuma, on coins of Galba [XXXX REMISSA] XL, Quadragesimo - LVGVDVNI A XL, Anno Quadragesimo; on a silver quinarii of Mark Antony, struck in 43-42 BC. The figures XL here represent the age of Mark Antony at the time these coins were struck [XLI]. The figures LII, on gold and silver coins of Julius Caesar, also probably denote his age.
