RIC VII, ARLES [after 263], CONSTANTINE I, UNLISTED MINTMARK [SARMATIA DEVICTA], BUST B1

OBVERSE

CONSTAN-TINVSAVG [CONSTANTINVS AVG]; head r., laur.

REVERSE

SARMATIA-DEVICTA [SARMATIA DEVICTA]; Victory advancing r., holding trophy and branch and spurning captive on ground to r. •S*AR in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED MINTMARK. Coin similar to ARLES 257 except for dot in m.m. The presence of other specimens with the same m.m. proves that it is unlikely an engraver's error. Additionally, in footnote 257 on p. 262 Bruun mentions one more specimen from Milan (ex Gerin Collection) "with •S*AR". Coin should be listed after ARLES 263.
