NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED ISSUE. This type belongs to group which was minted after Maximinus' capture of Heraclea in 313 [HERACLEA 76-78]. The similar reverse was used earlier in Nicomedia and Cyzicus [i.e. NICOMEDIA 70a-70b, CYZICUS 94] controlled by Maximinus since Galerius' death, but the legend VIRTVTI EXERCITIS is not known at all. Coin should be listed after HERACLEA 78. See also: HERACLEA ? [after 78], MAXIMINUS, UNLISTED ISSUE, OFFICINA A.

NOTES

Coin sold on eBay in January 2006 for $58.
