OBVERSE

MAXIMIA-NVSAVG [MAXIMIANVS AVG]; head r., laur.

NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED ISSUE. Not attested in RIC VI. Probably minted in Cyzicus but attribution uncertain. Note error in rev. legend: CONCOROIA instead of CONCORDIA. Cf. also Note in RIC on p. 581: "M.M. xiii, 452 attributes to Cyzicus (on the ground of the 'style des auréi de Cyzicus') a small bronze piece (1.38 gm. = ? 1/8th follis; now at Oxford) with obv. Maximia-nus Aug, r., laur., and rev. Utilitas-publica [...] [no mintmark] It is not certain, however, that the style is Cyzicene." Specimen in question has the same obverse and also no mintmark. Should be listed after CYZICUS 19b.

NOTES
